Show Notes

Growing up in a devout Hebrew household in Nazareth, Mary learned the importance of faith from her father, a shepherd, who instilled in her a deep reverence for the scriptures. Despite the synagogue services being primarily for men, her family's deep faith allowed her to absorb the teachings from a distance. Joseph's family, also from the lineage of David, was well-known to them, but they rarely interacted as he was often busy with work.

Their relationship blossomed at her cousin Miriam's wedding, where Joseph's gentle presence struck a chord in Mary. Their courtship was subtle, filled with small, meaningful interactions. The betrothal was a significant moment, signifying the union of their lives and purposes.

However, everything changed when the angel Gabriel appeared, announcing her destiny to bear the Son of God. Despite societal challenges, Joseph's unwavering support was a testament to their bond.

Their difficult journey to Bethlehem for the census ended in a stable, where Jesus was born. In that humble setting, holding Jesus, Mary realized her journey had led to a deeper understanding of divine love and purpose.
