Today’s episode, narrated by an innkeeper from Bethlehem, reflects on a momentous night that unknowingly changed the course of history. The man recounts a busy evening at his inn, filled to capacity due to the census decreed by Caesar Augustus. Amidst the bustling atmosphere, a weary couple, Joseph and Mary, arrive seeking shelter. With no rooms available, the innkeeper's wife suggests offering them the stable, a humble but safe refuge. Unbeknownst to the innkeeper, this couple was about to welcome Jesus Christ into the world. Over the years, the memory of that night fades for the innkeeper, overshadowed by personal tragedies, including the loss of his wife and sons. It's not until a visit from John, a follower of Jesus, that the innkeeper realizes the significance of that night. John's stories of Jesus' teachings, crucifixion, and resurrection illuminate the extraordinary nature of the event in the innkeeper's stable. The realization brings the innkeeper to tears, as he grasps that his simple act of hospitality played a part in God's greater plan. The story concludes with the innkeeper, now an old man, understanding the importance of even the most ordinary actions in the divine narrative, urging others to open their hearts to unexpected possibilities and divine encounters.
