What happens the day after Christmas? Literally, the day after Christmas is itself a holiday, known as Boxing Day. As a public holiday, it is celebrated in Great Britain and some Commonwealth countries, including Canada, Australia and New Zealand. It may have originated as a day to give gifts to the poor.
