We begin our study of the book of Ecclesiastes by exploring one of its most important chapters: chapter 3. It begins with these words: “For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven.” Our efforts to control our lives are futile. Only God is in charge of time. Scriptures referenced include Ecclesiastes 8:6; Ecclesiastes 3:1-8, 11; John 2:4; Galatians 4:4; Matthew 24:42; Ephesians 5:16; and Colossians 4:15.
