Show Notes

Today’s episode is Part 3 of “Making Waves,” a special musical theater edition of 1010 Thrive.

We open with some of Methuselah’s final words of wisdom before his passing. The aged patriarch warns Noah and his family of the impending destruction but urges them to remain steadfast in faith, righteousness, and remembrance of God’s justice. Meanwhile, the people of the land—both from Cain’s and Seth’s lineage—begin to notice the unusual procession of animals entering the ark. Some express doubt and curiosity, while others mock Noah as a fool, refusing to believe that judgment is near. A song, "Noah Is Still a Fool," captures their ridicule and disbelief, even as nature itself testifies to the truth of Noah’s warnings.

Inside the ark, chaos unfolds as Noah’s sons and their wives struggle to organize the animals, leading to a comedic but frantic song, "A Place for Everything." They scramble to separate predators from prey, keep the more mischievous creatures under control, and maintain some semblance of order. The scene highlights the monumental task of managing such a diverse collection of animals, demonstrating both the miraculous nature of their coexistence and the practical challenges Noah’s family faces. As they work, tension brews outside the ark, where the last moments of mercy are slipping away, and those who mocked Noah are given one final opportunity to repent before the flood begins.

Noah, standing before his scoffing neighbors, delivers a final plea, urging them to reconsider before the ark’s doors close. His song, "This Is the Final Hour," calls attention to God’s mercy, warning that soon the chance for salvation will be gone. As the storm clouds gather and the people continue to mock, the gravity of their decision becomes apparent. The ark stands as a beacon of salvation, yet pride and disbelief keep many from entering. With time running out, Noah and his family prepare to seal the doors, leaving behind a world unwilling to heed the warning of impending judgment.
