We wrap up the book of Joel by focusing on its three major themes: the “day of the Lord,” repentance, and the notion that the Lord is in the midst of His people. These three themes come together in the promise of the future outpouring of the Spirit. This outpouring is associated with the day of the Lord in both its judgmental and its saving roles. We discuss why the book is important and suggest some next steps. Scriptures referenced include Joel 2:11; Joel 1:4; Joel 3:16; Joel 2:27; and Joel 3:18-21.
